Do textual descriptions of musical experience matter? In a presentation given at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Professor Mihailo Antović, PhD, argued that the regularities observed in the textual descriptions of musical pieces imply the existence of several distinct levels of musical meaning. In combination these constrain musical meaning so that “many diversified descriptions are possible, but not anything goes.”
